AI-First Baby Sleep Startup Cradlewise Raises $12 Million in Series A Round
Cradlewise, an artificial intelligence-first health and wellness startup focused on infant and child sleep, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management, the company announced on Thursday.
The fresh capital takes Cradlewise's total funding raised to date to $26 million, with backing from earlier investors including Sean O'Sullivan Ventures, Footwork VC and Charles River Ventures. Radix Capital Advisors served as the company's investment banking advisor for the round.
What Cradlewise builds
Founded in 2019 by Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil, Cradlewise makes AI-enabled smart cribs that combine sensing, machine learning and soothing mechanisms in a closed-loop system. The cribs use multi-sensor data covering movement, sound, sleep state and environmental context to predict when a baby is about to wake and intervene before it happens, aiming to extend infant sleep and ease the burden on parents.
The company says its technology is backed by patents covering both its hardware and sensing systems, and that more than 75 million hours of sleep data have gone into continuously improving its detection, prediction and personalisation capabilities. Cradlewise operates an integrated manufacturing facility in Pune capable of producing, testing and packing thousands of cribs a month.
Where the money will go
The company plans to deploy the new capital toward growth, expanding its distribution channels, product research and development, and geographic expansion beyond its current markets in India and the United States. Cradlewise said it intends to broaden access to its products through a wider mix of online, retail, partnership and international sales channels.
Beyond the core smart crib, the company is working on a broader child sleep roadmap that extends past the initial 0-24-month infant window. Planned initiatives include software-led sleep routines, additional child sleep hardware, lower-priced entry points for cost-conscious buyers, and reusable sensing and electronics modules designed to shorten future product development cycles.
Why it matters
Cradlewise's raise adds to a steady stream of funding activity in India's consumer health and parenting technology space, an area that has drawn growing investor interest as AI capabilities get embedded into everyday consumer hardware. The round reflects continued appetite among Indian and global investors for category-defining D2C hardware brands that combine manufacturing capability with software and data-driven differentiation.
For a startup ecosystem that has seen mixed signals this year, with some funding rounds slowing and select D2C brands scaling back, Cradlewise's ability to close a Series A round and articulate a multi-year product roadmap signals continued confidence from investors in founders building at the intersection of hardware, AI and parenting.
