Hexaware Shares Jump 12% After It Signs a Multi-Year Partnership With Anthropic

Shares of Hexaware Technologies surged more than 12% in Friday morning trade after the mid-sized IT services company announced a multi-year partnership with Anthropic, the US-based developer of the Claude family of AI models.

The stock hit an intraday high of ₹574.50 on the NSE, up 12.3% from Thursday's close of ₹511.40. Trading activity exploded: more than 1.48 crore shares changed hands on the NSE during the morning, roughly 69 times the stock's one-week average volume of about 2.14 lakh shares.

What the deal involves

Under the agreement, disclosed in an exchange filing, Hexaware becomes a Preferred Partner in Anthropic's Claude Partner Network. The more substantive part is product-level: Claude will sit at the core of two of Hexaware's own platforms.

The first is Zerovity, which Hexaware pitches as an AI-native software engineering platform. The second is AgentVerse, its system for building, deploying and governing AI agents, which already carries more than 600 pre-built agents for enterprise use cases.

For an IT services firm, this kind of tie-up matters because enterprise clients increasingly want vendors who can deliver working AI systems rather than just staff for traditional projects. A deeper relationship with a frontier model provider gives Hexaware a stronger story to tell in deal pitches, particularly for AI-led modernisation and automation work.

Not the first step with Anthropic

This builds on an earlier arrangement. In late June, Hexaware was named an Anthropic Authorised Reseller for Amazon Bedrock, letting it sell access to Claude models to enterprise customers through Amazon Web Services. The stock rose as much as 8% on that announcement too. The new agreement moves the relationship from reselling access to embedding the models in Hexaware's own delivery platforms.

A rally from a low base

Friday's gain extended Hexaware's winning run to a fifth straight session, with the stock up about 17% over that stretch. Brokerage interest had already been building; earlier this month Morgan Stanley flagged Hexaware as one of its preferred mid-tier IT picks, as we reported in our coverage of that call.

Even so, the stock is still down roughly 25% so far in 2026 and trades below its IPO price. The company has also been through a leadership change, with former EXL executive Vivek Jetley taking over as CEO in September, as covered in our earlier report.

Why it matters for Indian IT

The announcement landed on a day when IT stocks were broadly in demand after TCS's September-quarter results. But Hexaware's move stood out for being tied to a specific AI capability rather than sector sentiment. As Indian IT firms compete for a shrinking pool of traditional outsourcing work, partnerships that put leading AI models directly into their delivery stack are becoming one of the clearest ways to differentiate. Whether this one translates into measurable revenue will show up only in coming quarters, but investors clearly decided to price in some of that optimism early.
