Two SME IPOs Open Today: Vama Wovenfab and Quanto Agroworld Hit the Market

Two small and medium enterprise IPOs opened for subscription on Tuesday, offering retail and institutional investors fresh entry points into India's active SME primary market even as the mainboard IPO calendar stays relatively quiet this week.

Vama Wovenfab: Betting on Packaging Demand

Vama Wovenfab Limited, a manufacturer of polypropylene and high-density polyethylene woven sacks and fabric-based products used across sizes, weights and colour variants, launched its issue with a price band of Rs 324 to Rs 341 per share. The company is looking to raise between Rs 47.07 crore and Rs 49.54 crore through an entirely fresh issue, with the net public offer comprising 13.80 lakh shares after setting aside a portion for market makers. The subscription window closes on September 17, with allotment expected shortly after and a tentative listing on the BSE SME platform around September 22. Gretex Corporate Services is managing the issue, with Maashitla Securities handling registrar duties. The retail quota has been fixed at 35%, institutional investors get 50%, and non-institutional investors the remaining 15%.

Quanto Agroworld: A Play on Agri-Processing

The second issue, from Quanto Agroworld Limited, is considerably smaller. The company operates an integrated agricultural business built around cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants and processing biomass to extract essential oils through steam distillation, a niche corner of India's agri-processing economy that has drawn growing investor interest as demand for natural extracts and essential oils climbs both domestically and for export. Quanto Agroworld's issue comprises 46.30 lakh fresh shares priced at Rs 67 apiece, aiming to raise Rs 31.02 crore. With a lot size of 4,000 shares, the minimum investment works out to roughly Rs 2.68 lakh, placing it firmly in territory suited to high-net-worth and institutional bidders rather than small retail investors. Like Vama Wovenfab, the issue closes on September 17, with allotment expected around September 18 and shares likely to be credited to successful applicants' demat accounts by September 21.

The Bigger Picture for SME Investors

Both companies join a busy stretch for India's SME exchanges, which have seen a steady stream of smaller issuers tap the market through 2026 even as investors and regulators alike have grown more watchful of listing-day volatility and thin post-listing liquidity that have characterised parts of the SME segment. Neither Vama Wovenfab nor Quanto Agroworld operates in a sector known for explosive growth, but both offer exposure to steady, demand-linked businesses, industrial packaging and natural agri-extracts respectively, that can appeal to investors looking beyond the crowded mainboard IPO pipeline. As always with SME issues, the smaller float and lighter analyst coverage mean investors should size positions conservatively and read the offer documents closely rather than relying solely on grey market chatter ahead of listing.
