Jubilant FoodWorks Q1 FY27 Profit Rises 6% to Rs 100 Crore as Domino's Sales Grow
Jubilant FoodWorks, the master franchisee that operates Domino's Pizza in India, reported a 6% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 100 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, as revenue climbed 14% on the back of steady store expansion and continued demand for its core pizza business.
Steady Growth Despite Cost Pressures
Revenue from operations for the June quarter rose to Rs 2,569.7 crore from Rs 2,252.2 crore in the same period last year, while total income touched Rs 2,588.3 crore, also up 14% year-on-year. The company's profit before tax grew a more modest 9.7% to Rs 151.3 crore, reflecting rising costs across employee benefits, finance charges and other operating expenses that outpaced the headline revenue growth.
Employee benefit expenses climbed to Rs 430.8 crore from Rs 372.7 crore a year earlier, while other expenses rose to Rs 923.4 crore from Rs 794.7 crore, pointing to continued inflationary pressure on input costs and store operations even as the topline expanded.
Compared with the immediately preceding quarter, the company's performance improved more sharply. Profit before tax jumped 24% from Rs 122 crore in Q4 FY26, while profit from continuing operations rose 10% sequentially. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, consolidated profit was up 21% from Rs 82.4 crore, suggesting a pickup in momentum entering the new fiscal year after a softer close to FY26.
Store Network Expands, Domino's Leads Growth
Jubilant FoodWorks added a net 76 outlets during the quarter, taking its total store count to 3,712 across its various brands. Domino's India, the group's flagship business, reported like-for-like sales growth of 2.5% for the quarter, a modest but positive signal of same-store demand recovery in a consumption environment that has been mixed for quick-service restaurant chains through much of the year. The group's international operations under Domino's Eurasia, by contrast, posted a 1.3% decline in like-for-like sales, highlighting divergent trends between the company's domestic and overseas businesses.
Exiting Dunkin' as Discontinued Operations
The results also reflect the financial impact of Jubilant FoodWorks' decision to exit the Dunkin' brand in India, with its franchise agreement for the chain set to lapse in December 2026. The group booked a Rs 3.2 crore after-tax loss from discontinued operations tied to the wind-down, after having earlier approved the non-renewal of its rights to develop and operate Dunkin' outlets in the country. Profit attributable to owners of the parent, after accounting for both continuing and discontinued operations, stood at Rs 97.2 crore, up from Rs 91.8 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Basic and diluted earnings per share came in at Rs 1.47, marginally higher than Rs 1.39 in the same quarter last year.
Looking Ahead
For the full year ended March 2026, the group had reported consolidated revenue of Rs 9,512.5 crore and a full-year profit of Rs 444.2 crore, a base against which the June quarter's sequential improvement offers an early, if modest, sign of momentum. With the Dunkin' exit now largely behind it, investors will be watching whether Domino's India can sustain the uptick in like-for-like sales through the rest of FY27, particularly as the group continues to expand its store footprint in smaller cities.
